In relation to its binary boiling point phase diagram, compositional changes of a benzene-toluene liquid-liquid mixture as temperature increases is animated. At each temperature, the number of molecules in the liquid and vapour phases are initially determined by the Lever’s rule, followed by the calculation of the number of benzene and toluene in the liquid phase and that in the vapour phase using the x axes values of the phase diagram.
